The Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) has permitted two of its players to join Sunrisers Hyderabad for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. In such a situation, 13 players from the Union Territory will join as net bowlers for various franchises. Among the Kashmiri players to be included in the SRH IPL squad are Mohammad Tahir and Aaqib Nabi.

The Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association thanked the franchise for including the players and showing faith in them. Both players have been allowed to join the SRH squad. Apart from Mohammad Tahir and Aaqib, Srinagar pacer Samiullah Dar has joined Kolkata Knight Riders. He was among the top wicket-takers in the JKCA-organized event last season.

13 players will participate in IPL
It may be noted that left-arm fast bowler Mujtaba Yusuf from Anantnag district has joined Chennai Super Kings. He regularly participated in the IPL player's auction but was not selected. Fast bowler Basit Bashir has signed up with Mumbai Indians, while Wasim Bashir has signed up with Lucknow Super Giants. Both have played cricket for Jammu and Kashmir at the junior level.

Mithun Manhas, Member Cricket Operations & Development, JKCA said, “It is not only the most watched cricket tournament in the world which is in its 16th season, but it is also the tournament that revolutionized cricket. and made it popular with the biggest fan following." JKCA Member Administrator Brig (Retd), Anil Gupta said, "This only proves that there is no dearth of talent in JK, our players squandered opportunities. The talent of JKCA players is now being recognized. IPL Exposure will enable these."
