'Working in big-ticket movies...'
The actress told that when she started working in Hindi films, she focused on not repeating her mistakes. The 'Thappad' actress told Cosmopolitan India in an interview that 'Initially, I was told that the only way to become a star is to work in big-ticket films that too with big superstars and that will take you to the top.

'Looking ultra-glam had to be a diva'
With this, she further said that 'Working with big stars meant a lot that you had to look ultra-glam, be a diva... Look a certain way and be a certain way and as I told you, I clearly didn't fit. So initially I tried my best to change myself to look more glamorous and a little dumbā€¦ because obviously, looking good equals being a no-brainer.

Lessons learned from South films
Actress Taapsee Pannu further said that 'So I did some roles because I liked them and I realized very quickly that those films were not working for me. And it was obsolete when I did something different, like working in films like nonheroine. So I realized that being trustworthy works better for me than looking aspirational. I learned this lesson working in films in the South, so when I switched to Bollywood, I knew I would not repeat my mistakes.

Entered Bollywood in 2013
