Businessman Raj Kundra has been in the headlines in the pornography case, but during this time he kept mum on the matter. However, he finally broke his silence on the subject after three years and shared his stand on the ongoing issues in an interview with ANI.
Kundra shared that he decided to speak openly when his family was dragged into the case. He said, "Silence is bliss. But when it comes to family and when family members are involved, I feel I should speak openly. When I remain silent, people feel that I am hiding something and people should realize the truth."
Raj Kundra vehemently denied the allegations of being involved in pornography production. He explained that his role was limited to providing technical support to his brother-in-law's company, which operated an app with bold, but non-pornographic content in the UK.
He said- "Till date, I have not been a part of any pornography, any production, nothing to do with porn. When this allegation came out, it was very sad. The bail happened because there were no facts or evidence in the case. I know I have not done anything wrong. As far as running the app is concerned, there was a listed company in my son's name and we used to provide technology services. We provided technology services to my brother-in-law's company Kenrin, in which he had launched an app running from the UK, it was definitely bold, it was made for a large audience, these were A-rated films but they were not pornographic at all.
Commenting on his contribution, he said, "As far as my involvement is concerned, it has been completely the role of a technology provider... Let any girl come forward who says that I have met Raj Kundra or worked in any of his films, or Raj Kundra has ever made a film... The media says that Raj Kundra is the kingpin of all 13 apps, I am only involved in the involvement of software technology And there was nothing wrong going on in that app."
Trust in the judiciary
Amid the ongoing case, Kundra says he has full faith in the judiciary and that is why he has been fighting continuously for three years. "I have full faith in the judiciary," Kundra said. He further added, "If I am guilty, charge me; if I am not guilty, acquit me."
During this time, Kundra had to spend 63 days in jail and that period was the toughest period of his time. Businessman Kundra stressed on the emotional burden of staying away from his family during this time. "It was difficult to stay away from my family and fight in court. But I am confident that I will win this case because I know I have not done anything wrong."
He further added, "After being in custody for 63 days, it would not have been possible to get bail if there was even a little truth in the case. I thank the judiciary system for this. It has given me some confidence. I am confident that I will win this case because I know I have not done anything wrong. But those 63 days, the damage done to my reputation and the allegations made on my family can never be forgotten. The respect we have lost will never come back. But I have to continue the fight and I hope that after all this, justice will be served and the truth will come out," he said.
Kundra also claimed that it was a business rivalry that turned into a personal attack on him. He claimed, "Once, when I was in the PC, someone came to me at midnight and said, 'Why did you start quarreling with him?' Then I realised who had hatched this conspiracy against me."
Raj Kundra took a significant step in his quest for defence, submitting a letter to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) containing names of individuals he suspects are behind the conspiracy to tarnish his reputation. Choosing not to publicly disclose the names, Kundra expressed confidence that those responsible will eventually face consequences. "Karma ka phala milega. Nyay milega," he said. Meanwhile, Kundra is also under the scanner of the Enforcement Directorate (ED), which is probing the alleged money laundering case.
