Mushtaq Merchant: Sholay fame actor, comedian Mushtaq Merchant passed away

Famous Bollywood actor and comedian Mushtaq Merchant has died at the age of 67. He breathed his last at the Holy Family Hospital in Mumbai. He had been suffering from a serious illness like diabetes for the last few days.

Mushtaq had made significant contributions to Cineworld over the years. News of his demise has sent shockwaves through Bollywood. Many Bollywood actors have paid homage to him.

He has acted in many movies like Haath Ki Safai, Sita Aur Geeta, Jawani Diwani, Sagar Pyaar Ka Saya and Fifty Fifty, Sholay. His role in the movie Sholay was very popular. In the school, he had portrayed one or two personalities. Mushtaq Merchant played the role of a comedian as well as a character.

According to media reports, Mushtaq had won the Best Actor award at the Mumbai All India Inter College competitions. He has also carved his name on many prestigious awards. For three years in a row, he won the award for best writer and director. He had the opportunity to work with many veteran actors in Bollywood. Along with acting, he loved writing. He also wrote screenplays for movies like Pyaar Ka Saaya, Lad Saheb, Apne Saajan Ke and Gag. But Mushtaq Merchant had made a comeback in Bollywood 16 years ago. He was later diagnosed with diabetes.
