Ponniyin Selvan is one of the most awaited films, which the audience is eagerly waiting for. It is a film featuring the power struggle of the Chola Empire during the 10th century. Recently a teaser was released which also gave a glimpse of some of the main characters like Vikram, Trisha, and Aishwarya Rai. But now this movie seems to be stuck in legal disputes. Mani Ratnam and Chiyaan Vikram have been summoned by the court for misinterpreting the Chola dynasty in the film. The attorney has demanded a special screening to check for any historical factual distortions in the film.

Petitioner demanded a special screening
A few days after the release of the teaser, the film ran into trouble. Mani Ratnam and Chiyan Vikram have received a court notice from a lawyer named Selvam. In his petition, he pointed out that Vikram Chiyan, playing the role of Aditya Karikalan, does not have a tilak on his forehead while the poster of 'Ponniyin Selvan' shows a tilak. The petitioner feels that the Cholas may be misrepresented in the film. Hence, he has demanded a special screening of 'Ponniyin Selvan' before the release of the film to analyze whether the makers have distorted historical facts in the film or depicted reality.

This star will play an important role in the film
The lead actresses of 'Ponniyin Selvan' are Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Aishwarya Lakshmi (Aishwarya lekshmi) who will be seen as the queen of the Chola dynasty. Jayam Ravi, Chiyan Vikram, Karthi, Trisha, Prakash Raj, Vikram Prabhu, and Jairam will also play important roles in the film. The interesting thing is that the music of this film has been given by AR Rahman and in such a situation, once again the pair of Mani Ratnam- Rahman (A R Rahman Music) is working together. It is a cinematic adaptation of Kalki's evergreen Tamil novel that was serialized in the 1950s.
