The condition of the Indian hockey team forward player Mandeep Singh is getting worse. His corona report came back positive on Monday. Oxygen levels in renal blood have dropped significantly from normal. According to the Health Update of the Sports Authority of India (Sai), Mandeep has been shifted to SS Sparsh Multispeciality Hospital.

Mandeep Corona is the sixth player in the hockey team to be infected. The entire team is quarantined at the Sai Center in Bengaluru from 4 August. The national camp is scheduled to begin on 20 August in preparation for the Tokyo Olympics.

All infected players are being investigated 4 times a day
Already the reports of Indian team captain Manpreet Singh, defender Surendra Kumar, Jaskaran Singh, drag-flicker Varun Kumar, and Krishna B. Pathak have also come up positive. According to Sai, all the players are being treated under the supervision of doctors. All the necessary checks are being done 4 times a day.

Symptoms of the corona were not seen in the recession


Sai had issued a statement that 20 male players, including Mandeep, underwent RT-PCR test to check for corona infection. The report of the recession was positive only on Monday, but there were no signs of any symptoms.

Players returned to their homes on June 19 in Unlock-1
The training camp of the Indian hockey team was going on in March at the Sai Center in Bengaluru in terms of preparations for the Tokyo Olympics. Meanwhile, due to Corona, the lockdown took place and all the players were stuck in Bengaluru. The camp was also closed by precautionary Sai.

After this, the players returned to their respective homes on 19 June in Unlock-1. All the players were to return to the camp again in July, but this was postponed due to increasing lockdown in Karnataka.

32 male and 25 female players present in the camp
After Sai's approval, all the players had joined the camp from 4 August. Since then all the players have been in quarantine for two weeks. During this time, the corona test of the players took place. For the camp, 32 players from the men's team and 25 from the women's team are present at the Sai Center.

India placed in Pool-A with Argentina, Spain at Tokyo Olympics


The first match of the Indian men's hockey team will be held in New Zealand on July 24 next year in the postponed Tokyo Olympics. On the same day, the women's team will also take on the Netherlands in their opening match. 8-time Olympic champion India has been placed in Pool-A. It also has Australia, Argentina, Spain, New Zealand, and hosts Japan.

The Tokyo Olympics were to be held from July this year, which has been postponed for a year due to Corona. Now, this event will be held in 2021 from 23 July to 8 August.
