The IPL will be played in three UAE cities - Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Sharjah from 19 September to 10 November. The BCCI has received approval from the Government of India to host the UAE. In such a situation, at least 50 young cricketers can get a chance to go to the UAE as net bowlers with eight teams from the franchise.
Teams are preparing a plan to take the young bowlers with them to get the batsmen to practice. The young bowlers will get the opportunity to bowl to India batsmen like former India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Rishabh Pant, and Suresh Raina during net practice.
Three franchise teams Chennai Super Kings, Kolkata Knight Riders, and Delhi Capital have confirmed this to the agency. The three teams have also started the process of selecting the net bowler.
Teams are preparing the list of net bowlers
Chennai Super Kings CEO Kashi Vishwanathan told the agency on Tuesday, “We are planning to take 10 bowlers for the practice sessions in the UAE. He will be with the team and will stay till the tournament starts. ”
Kolkata Knight Riders also confirmed that their roster will also have 10 net bowlers, with former Mumbai captain and his academy coach Abhishek Nair choosing the bowlers for the same. Delhi Capital is also taking 6 bowlers in its list, who will be part of the team. At the same time, Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bangalore are also preparing the list for net bowlers from their academy.
Ranji and U-19, 23 bowled young bowlers will get a chance
Teams have started searching for net bowlers. Franchise teams have played Ranji Trophy and have started preparations to join the under-23 and under-19 cricketers. At the same time, some teams are scouting their performance by preparing a list of young bowlers, who were included in the BCCI list for the IPL auction, but none of them were bought.
Teams used to give junior players and local bowlers a chance as net bowlers
During the IPL in India, the franchise teams used to give junior players and local bowlers the opportunity to bowl batsmen in practice sessions. Since this time IPL is happening in UAE.
There is a tournament in a bio-secure environment. In such a situation, it will be difficult to give the local bowler a chance due to security reasons. Therefore, the teams want to go to the UAE with a net bowler from here, keeping in mind the protocol designed for the bio-secure environment.
