Actor Sushant Singh Rajput committed suicide by hanging himself at his Bandra residence on Sunday, 14 June. However, his maternal uncle, RC Singh, has claimed that his nephew did not commit suicide, but in fact, he has been murdered. He has also demanded a CBI inquiry into the case. He said that he does not trust the state police and is, therefore, seeking a probe from a central agency like the CBI.

Speaking to ANI, he said, "We do not think he committed suicide, the police should investigate the matter. There seems to be a conspiracy behind his death. He has been murdered." Imposed that the death of his former manager Disha Salian, considered a suicide, was actually a murder.

According to the police report, the actor was suffering from depression and had been treating him for the last six months. It is also reported that before taking drastic steps, he consumed a glass of juice, then locked himself in the bedroom and gave no answer despite a lot of knocking at the door. Neighbors broke the door at around 12:30, where they were found hanging, and were then reported to the police. The Mumbai Police also said that no suicide note was recovered.

He will be cremated in Mumbai today after his father and other family members visit the city. The 34-year-old actor came into the limelight after Daily Soap Holy Rishta, then moved to Bollywood and was praised for films like Kai Po Che, MS Dhoni: The Untold Story, PK, Kedarnath, Raabta, Chhichor. His last film, Dil Bechara, is a remake of The Fault in Our Stars, which will reportedly be released online.
